As you may know, we are doing a big food collection for the Hope Centre this year. The aim for us is to provide as much food as possible to take down to the charity. We want as many students and staff members to get involved and donate an item of food.
The Hope Centre is a charity based in Derby. It aims to provide help for those in poverty which may include families, young people, single parents, refugees/asylum seekers and the elderly. They provide many different services such as the Food Bank, Hope Store, Lunch Club for over 50’s, Jumping Jacks (under 4’s) & a Weekly Drop-in for individuals in need of tailored 1-2-1 support, Job Club and Debt Advice Service.
They rely solely on the donations of the public. We would really like to try and help as many people as we can this year so we ask all of you, students and staff to make a small food based donation so we can help our local community in times of need.
The collection will take place from Monday 21st November- Thursday 8th December so that gives you plenty of time to collect donations!
