On Friday the 6th of November, Level 3 Media students took a trip to Aesthetica Short Film Festival in York. The day consisted of going to master classes with WARP Films and exploring York whilst going to different venues to watch various short films.
However, when we got onto the coach and started to travel the two-hour journey, my mood got better when I realised I could catch up on the sleep I had missed.
When we arrived at York, we headed straight to REEL Cinema…lets forget the getting lost bit on the way. The group then travelled to York St John University to listen to a industry talk from WARP Films, it was interesting to learn about how they created This Is England and how the idea came across.
Our lecturers then gave us free time to go watch all of the short films that were being shown at different venues throughout York…some of us might of spent more time looking for food places then watching the films but hey ho.
We all met again at 17:30pm to catch the coach back home, but the trip didn’t end there. Some of us decided it would be a great idea to play songs such as YMCA all the way home, others were not pleased.
Everyone who went on the trip thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to go on other trips. Our lecturers Vanessa Simpson and Claudine Anderson definitely made the trip amazing and we all appreciate the work they put into making it happen.
